Lucy De Francesco

From a young age Lucy would rearrange things in her parents house. She would move vases, plants, figurines - basically anything she could get her hands on and style vignettes "for fun."

A passion for design didn't make it to the forefront, instead life in the corporate world presented itself. 

"Sitting in board meetings I would envision the layout of the room to be more functional. I would look at art pieces and think that's too high and imagine a more lively paint colour on the wall in the conventional suit and tie environment. Like many...a light bulb went off."

After successfully obtaining her staging certification, Lucy furthered her education in interior decorating and expanded her business and services to her clients. 

"After staging, clients would ask if I could assist in decorating their new home. I realized when you're being invited into the next chapter of their lives, it's pretty special."

Would you choose trend or function? Function first in any space, whether staging or designing. Function will make your space liveable and enjoyable.  

What is your favourite accessory? I’m a pillow junkie,  I can never have enough accent pillows – they add a pop of colour and instantly update a bed, accent chair or sofa.

How would you describe your personal design style? It's a collaboration of a few - I love infusing contemporary and mid-century modern pieces. They work well together to create a warm and inviting space.
